Sea Gull Lighting Receives Grand Prize in Lighting for Tomorrow Competition

Riverside, New Jersey (September 10, 2007) – Sea Gull Lighting Products, LLC (www.SeaGullLighting.com), the leading manufacturer of decorative and functional lighting products, was named the Grand Prize winner in the American Lighting Association’s (ALA) Lighting for Tomorrow 2007 competition. The award, which annually highlights outstanding, energy-efficient residential lighting designs, honored the company’s Acadia collection during the ALA Annual Conference held in San Antonio, Texas on September 9. Also honored was Sea Gull Lighting’s Newport collection of residential lighting products.

Since its launch in 2002, Lighting for Tomorrow has annually recognized the excellence in design of energy-efficient residential lighting fixtures. This year, Sea Gull Lighting’s Acadia and Newport lighting collections earned top honors due to their ability to meet stringent ENERGY STAR program guidelines as well as their stylish contemporary designs that extend though a family of pendants and chandeliers as well as hall/foyer, wall/bath and close-ceiling lighting fixtures.

The Lighting for Tomorrow competition was launched by the American Lighting Association, U.S. Dept. of Energy (represented by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory) and Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) to increase the visibility, sale and promotion of innovative, energy-efficient lighting fixture design. This year’s Lighting for Tomorrow judging panel consisted of approximately 10 individuals, including lighting retailers, lighting designers, home builders, LED researchers, energy efficient program sponsors and lighting and design media representatives.
